"Recruit has reported for evaluation as instructed. Recruit is fifteen (one, five) seconds early."

Hadron Omega 7-7 is a technoarchaeologist, located in the Shrine of the Omnissiah, where she works as an artificer who oversees and upgrades the warband's equipment (weapons and curios). Acting as lead Tech Priest of Inquisitor Grendyl's retinue, she is a liaison representing both the interests of the Adeptus Mechanicus and Inquisitor Grendyl on Atoma.

Artificer & Technoarchaeologist[]

"Grendyl permits me certain latitudes in the pursuit of technoarcheological discovery." (Secrets of the Machine God | Narrative Trailer)

Hadron likely serves Grendyl as a prime acolyte when technology is involved, and has refitted and blessed wargear for auric-class teams and rejects alike. However she works to craft more than just weapons and armour for the warband.

As a Technoarchaeologist, she is also an artisan who crafts and designs bespoke tech and gadgets as needed. One such gadget being a vox hacker to access to the heretic's vox arrays, employed by Morrow in the Carnival missions. This specialty tinkering may extend further. She has access to nearly all vox channels of the Mourningstar and is often eavesdropping or spying, and surely keen on any info that might lead to the acquisition of Archaeotech.

In general, the Mechanicus is keen to collect all forms of data and information, but Hadron likely has personal interests in obtaining archaeotech to study, as is her her specialized interest. This could be a reason why she is so keen on obtaining the Rogue Trader's star maps, trade routes, and other data to analyze in case of the off-chance there might be a lead on some form of archaeotech to pursue in the future. Until such a time, she is resigned to artificer duties for the warband strike teams, among other Inquisitorial duties.

Adeptus Mechanicus[]

Admech banner 1

A common Adeptus Mechanicus banner seen throughout Tertium.

The religion of the Adeptus Mechanicus is the Cult Mechanicus, who's guiding virtue is the acquisition of all knowledge, as well as the rediscovery of powerful archeo-tech from the Dark Age of Technology, all in the name of the holy trinity making up their deity, the Omnissiah, Motive Force, and Machine God. In practical terms, the Adeptus Mechanicus control and operate the means of production across the Imperium. The largest and most advanced of their forge worlds, Holy Mars serves as the Imperium primary production hub, the headquarters to the Adeptus Mechanicus, and most sacred location to their faith the Cult Mechanicus.

As head Tech-Priest and technoarchaeologist of Grendyl's warband, she has authority, if not ownership, of any pieces of technology and industry within Grendyl's sphere of influence, and by extension that of the Mourningstar. She's the chief resprentative of and connection to the "Forge World Principal", Holy Mars. Although unsuccessful at times, Hadron send petitions, at the encouragement of Sergeant Major Morrow, for various materials and supplies from Holy Mars. (Many rejects pray she orders some bulk plasteel shipments.)

Struggles with Rogue Trader[]

Rogue Traders and the Adeptus Mechanicus both crave archeo-tech from the Dark Age of Technology. One wants it for personal use and profit, while the latter sees archeo-tech and all technology as sacred relics of the Machine God meant for study and to enact the Omnissiah's will. The Adeptus Mechanic is entitled to all technology within and discovered by in the Imperium, as is decreed by the Omnissiah at the start of the Great Crusade.

Lady Alice Hallowette[]

Hadron isn't fond of most, but she has a particular dislike for Alice Hallowette. Both can be over-heard passive-aggressively antagonizing one another on the Mourningstar's open comms channels. As a senior member of a Rogue Trader's retinue, Hallowette hides many of her shady dealings of trade and politics and is wary of the Inquisition learning too much of dealings; dealings that would considered heresy if it wasn't performed under the House Brahms Warrant of trade. She is rumored to trade with xenos, but even more worrisome than that, Hallowette could potentially uncover powerful human archeotech. Hadron, who is an artisan specialized in the study of archeotech, would have great an interest in. Hadron likely assumes illicit technology acquisitions are occurring and searches for additional info in her terminal's logs for clues and simply for the sake of gathering valuable Rogue Trader knowledge.

However, in the post-patch-13 hub comms, Hadron thanks the Commodore for an unspecified gift, possibly an attempt at a sort of bribery. Of which Hadron states that the gift has been sent to Holy Mars to verify its authenticity. What this gift might be is left to the imagination.

Shipmistress Brahms[]

In the interactions between Brahms and Hadron during the Merchantile mission in the Carnival, Brahms appears interesting in poaching Hadron from Grendyl. Brahms seems to think well of Hadron and sees the Tech-priest's value. The Shipmistress often attempts to subtly sway Hadron through indirect comments of how much more interesting and free she might be working for the Rogue Trader, instead of the Inquisitor. The Shipmistress also presents herself as an amicable new patron to Hadron's pursuits, rather than a shadowy overseer, like Grendyl. However Hadron doesn't seem interested in joining the Rogue Trader's crew and keeps her responses to the Rogue Trader's comments short and focused on the mission at hand.

Other Tangents[]

Ogryn Operatives[]

Hadron frequently talks down to the rejects like they're dim-witted idiots. The Ogryn rejects don't see this an insulting and actually seem to find it helpful. They greatly appreciate the clear and simple way that "metal-face", as they call her, gives orders. The Ogryns are still wary of her at times, like most of the other rejects.

Hadron might also be spying on the Brawler Ogryn with the defunct bone 'ead implant, as seen here. She spies on nearly everyone she can, but she could have a particular interest in gathering data regarding malfunctioning Biochemical Ogryn Neural Enhancement (BONE), AKA Bone 'ead implants.

Magos Kharib & the Council Biologis[]

The many plague strains and data, while the collection is often facilitated with Hadron's assistance, she doesn't seem to hand the bulk of the research. That task appears to be given the Council Biologis, who are keen to assist. The Hab Dreyko mission was redone in the Path of Redemption. With this update there is instead mention of Magos Kharib who created a "shriving unguent" to kill the current iteration of the Phage Tree in Hab Laranax.

Perhaps Kharib is the head of or replacement for this Council Biologis that is no longer mentioned. The tasks related to this role likely relate to data collected of the various strains of Walking Pox abundant in parts of Tertium.

In the retired version of the Hab Dreyko investigation mission briefing, Hadron mentions finding a mutant pox strain's source, Pathogen-designate 'Strain Kappa 687453/Hereticus Omega, for the Council Biologis to study. Masozi also mentions she's heard rumour that Rannick might be looking for a cue to the plague in her mission briefing of the old version of the Hab Dreyko mission. Tertium is likely one of many case studies on the Walking Pox, the new metaphysical plague creating poxwalkers across Imperial worlds since the opening of the Great Rift.

Magos Biologis[]

Sefoni also mentions that a Magos Biologis is roaming Hive Tertium and ponders whether Hadron knows him? This unnamed Magos Biologis is could also be researching the plague or its effects, in some manner. Regardless, speculation abounds with this individual with the almost no information to go off of.

Servo-Skulls[]

It seems likely that Hadron programs the mission instructions of many of the servo-skulls.

Hadron seems to value the servo-skulls she lends to strike teams more than the strike teams themselves. In practical terms, they serve as a means of data acquisition and transference along with being a means of interfacing with the complex machinery of the hive city. Striketeams make liberal use of these servo-skulls, and Hadron likely values some servo-skulls over others, such as when collecting valuable data she often emphasizes to not lose the servo-skull.

  • Hadron: [tut] Such a suspicious mind. Organics were ever thus.
  • Hadron: I expect any illicit technology acquisitions to be authorised through me, commodore.
  • Hallowette: Well, expect away and get used to disappointment! (approximate quote from memory)

  • Hallowette: Happy to do it. We're all on the same side, right?
  • Hallowette: Do you not ever smile, Hadron? Or laugh? Or chitter excitedly?
  • Hadron: I am always in acceptable humour.
  • Hallowette: If you say so, my darling.

Kayex-8[]

  • Kayex: Pleased am I to report that attempts at recreating the Rite of Steel at Manufactory HL-17-36 are progressing well, Technoarchaeologist.
  • Hadron: Indeed? That is most unexpected. And the traitors?
  • Kayex: Continue to aggravate and interfere. Mayhap we must send some pre-servitors to remonstrate with them, hammer and tongs.
  • Hadron: Enginseer Kayex. I wish to harness your expertise in the matter of increasing our Moebian Steel output.
  • Kayex: Gladly do I give it, technoarchaeologist. Prevail upon me whenever you must.

Masozi[]

  • Masozi: Oi, Clanky! Have you been messing with my Storm Raptor again? Something doesn't feel right.
  • Hadron: Why do you ask questions to which you already know the answer?
  • Hadron: Lieutenant Masozi, please desist on performing your own maintenance. The Omnissiah forbids it.
  • Masozi: If the Omnissiah kept Storm Raptor flying, I wouldn't need to, would I?

  • Hadron: Sergeant-Major you really must insist your charges take better care of their weapons.
  • Morrow: What's a relic without a bit of wear and tear? Shows it's been well-used.

Swagger[]

  • Hadron: Do you have clearance to be in this area?
  • Swagger: How else could I be here?
  • Hadron: KINDLY do not stare.
  • Swagger: WAS I staring? I'm so sorry, my mind was wandering through past glories.
  • Swagger: Dear lady, you are an artist, sculpting in circuitry and steel.
  • Hadron: You say that as if one should expect anything different.

Zola[]

  • Zola: Hadron, how goes the refit of the Auric strike teams' wargear?
  • Hadron: It proceeds ahead of schedule. The Omnissiah is generous.
  • Hadron: Explicator Zola! You are three cycles late for our meeting.
  • Zola: I was busy, all right? Data-work can wait.
  • Hadron: Explicator Zola, we have matters to discuss.
  • Zola: [Sigh] Understood. I'll make time as soon as I can.
  • Hadron: Sergeant-Major! Your operatives' reports lack sufficient data! I must know everything that occurs!
  • Zola: Ya, like your not listening in on every vox channel on the Mourningstar already.
  • Zola: Hadron, things would go smoother if you'd stop quarrelling with Masozi.
  • Hadron: It is not I who quarrels. You should instruct her to learn more discipline.

Rejects' Rumours[]

  • Brawler: Not sure I like metalface. She's always watching me.
  • Hadron: What an utterly ridiculous assertion. You are paranoid. (Radio distortion and heard coming from Brawler)
  • Brawler: You heard that, sah? She's watching me again, sah!
  • M Cutthroat: I didn't hear nothing. Definitely didn't hear her call you paranoid.
  • Brawler: Thank you, sah. Is great relief.

Advanced Age

  • Male Judge: The sum of years are meaningless if not spent in righteous service.
  • Male Loose-Cannon: I can't Quibble. Me, I should've died years ago.
  • Male Agitator: Whatever the spiritual failings of the Cult Mechanicus, they hath extended the Tech-priest's years considerably.
  • M Cutthroat: Go on. Ask her for her age. I dare you.
  • F Loose-Cannon: I'll not make old bones. I guarantee that.
  • M Judge: How old can a Tech-priest live, do you think?
  • F Judge: The sum of years are meaningless if not spent in righteous service.
  • M Loner: I intend to live a long, sinful life ... assuming I make it through this war.
  • Judge: Those augmetics have sustained the Tech-priest long beyond her allotted span of years.
  • Fanatic 2: At least she be not stripped of all humanity, like others of her kind.
  • Fanatic 3: Such longevity be wasted on a soulless machine.
  • M Fanatic: If ye think Morrow be old, what about the Tech-Priest? Older still, I reckon.
  • F Savant: It's traced through with machinery, but her soul indeed appears old.
  • M Agitator: I wouldst rather look upon the Master's glories with mines own eyes.
  • M Judge: The Tech-Priest's implants are new, but her flesh seems withered.
  • line 2
  • line 3

Unsettling

  • F Fanatic: That Tech-Priest ... I confess, I find her unsettling.
  • M Seer: Her thoughts are like the grinding of gears ... I wonder what would happen if I stopped them?
  • M Judge: So long as she serves the Emperor, I care not for her eccentricities.
  • Male Professional: That Tech-Priest gives me the shivers, but she can sure make a weapon sing.
  • Female Savant: We'll need significantly more metal in our flesh before (the?*) tech-priest respects us.
  • Bodyguard: She make guns work good. I like her.
  • Loose-Cannon: I get the shivers whenever the Tech-Priest looks in my direction.
  • Fanatic: She be diligent in her duties, even if her faith be questionable.
  • Bully: She don't bleeding scare me.
  • F Savant: The Tech-Priest's thoughts smell of electrical storms. Most uncomfortable.
  • F Agitator: I warn thee, freak! Stay out of my head, lest thee be smote in the Master's name.
  • F Judge: I counseled against bringing a freak from the start.
  • Bully: Tech-woman. Odd.
  • Savant: I find her mind grating... perhaps it's in need of oil.
  • Loner: I find it's better to keep an open mind.

Strange

  • Female Loner: How do you find Hadron-- I mean, the Tech-Priest?
  • Bodyguard: Fast talker.
  • Male Professional: We need to stay on her good side, so that's what I'm doing.
  • F Judge: How old can a Tech-priest live, do you think?
  • M Fanatic: At least she be not stripped of all humanity, like others of her kind.
  • Bodyguard: Everybody dies, even Metalface.
  • M Seer: Does no one else find the Tech-Priest ... a little curious?
  • M Professional: I've known worse. Still ... ain't exactly human, is she?
  • M Loose-Cannon: Just don't tell her we've be talking about her, alright?

Clear Orders

  • Bodyguard: Metalface is my favourite. Orders are clear, no?
  • Male Fanatic: What? The Tech-Priest does nothing but bark and blether!
  • Male Loner: I understand her, of course, but then I do have an incomparable mind.
  • Bodyguard: I like Metalface. Gives clear orders.
  • M Loner: I understand her, of course, but then I do have an incomparable mind.
  • F Seer: My dream, my rules. You shall do as I say, sweet Brute.
  • Bully: Orders from Metalface are my favourite!
  • F Agitator: Clearly thou art confused, Brute. The Tech-Priest speaketh only incomprehensible babble.
  • M Professional: Who knew? Big Man's smarter than he looks.

Idle[]

Passing Reject

  • I am ... prepared ... to offer artificer's services, varlet. Provided you remain civil.
  • Varlet! Does your weapon need calibrating?

Idle Conversation

  • Fabricator 136/48: Sing Praise to the God of All Machines.
  • Hadron: You seem to be talking again. Enough.
  • Fabricator 136/48: Request acknowledgement. Processing ... processing ... processing ...
  • Hadron: KINDLY do not stare.
  • Swagger: WAS I staring? I'm so sorry, my mind was wandering through past glories.
