"The Moebian 21st were on a rare resupply stop on Atoma when routine patrols started to disappear. Soon after, squads found themselves being directed by a mysterious Inquisitorial agent, identified only as Rannick." - Tactical Moebian 21st Flak Vest
The Moebian 21st are a regiment accustomed to fighting in damp, run-down hive cities due to their extensive deployment on the ocean world of Incron. They appear to be the first and primary (maybe even only) Moebian Regiment assisting the Inquisition in Tertium Hive. They garrison the various loyalist holdings and battle with the Moebian 6th traitors.
The 21st could be taking orders from Rannick alone, as Inquisitor Grendyl and the other warband leaders aren't mentioned. Across almost every map, they can be seen stationed at various locations and reinforce any strategic locations and assets that Inquisitorial strike teams secure.
The Moebian 21st are also featured in most of the major trailers: Official Teaser Trailer, Rejects Will Rise Trailer, World Intro Trailer, and The Carnival Cinematic Trailer.
Overview[]
Known for their rebreathers, pale blue fatigues, and extensive deployment on the ocean world of Incron. They have some degree of experience in aquatic (or amphibious) warfare, as is inevitable in the floating hive cities dotting the pale blue planet's ocean surface. It's apparent the 21st have adapted to both aquatic or amphibious warfare and urban warfare in the dripping wet, cramped and dilapidated hive cities.
Valkyries are the only Moebian 21st vehicles seen in the war upon Atoma. It can be speculated the 21st make heavy use of Valkyries for two reasons: It is easier to traverse the vast oceans by air, rather than sea. Second, Incron is the location of the Moebian Naval Battlefleet Depot, likely allowing for a close relationship between the 21st and Naval assistance.
It might be worth noting there aren't any tanks marked as belonging to the 21st. Whether the regiment simply doesn't have much use for tanks on Incron or not, isn't readily apparent.

Incron | Reclaimed in M39 and made part of the domain. The battlefleet navy was moved here from Atoma Prime for unspecified reasons in M39. Many floating Hive cities dot the planets vast oceans. The Moebian 21st were stationed here for an extensive and unknown amount of time. |
Known Squads[]
- Squad Nexos - One of many recon teams sent by Rannick to investigate deeper sub-levels of the hive. This could be the squad seen in the Official Teaser Trailer and World Intro Trailer, by Puppetworks Animation Studio. In Hab Laranax, during the the Hab Dreyko mission, there is a squad of Moebian 21st corpses strung up by the elevator. Morrow states that one or more of the squad's corpses was part of Squad Nexos while also commenting on how their ultimate fate was unknown.
- Reclamation Strike Force Beta-5 - A squad of Moebian 21st that secure the Metalfab-36 Consignment Yard after a squad of Rejects clears the area and disables the skyfire defences. Hadron mentions that this squad is one of the best.
Known Units[]
- Hull Breachers - This unit specialised in extraction missions, deep within the dripping Hive depths of Incron. (Unit is known to include Ogryns.)

- Lord Inquisitor Karamazov | |
Headtaker | Frame | Skulls for the... no, wait, trophies. Yes, they're just trophies. | |

Veteran[]
Name | Slot | Item | Description |
---|---|---|---|
Tactical Moebian 21st Rebreather | Head | It is extremely rare to see a member of the Moebian 21st deployed without a rebreather. Part sensible precaution, part superstition, this practice has become part and parcel of the regiment's traditions. | |
Tactical Moebian 21st Flak Vest | Upper Body | The Moebian 21st were on a rare resupply stop on Atoma when routine patrols started to disappear. Soon after, squads found themselves being directed by a mysterious Inquisitorial agent, identified only as Rannick. Many wondered (quietly) why the Inquisition might be interested in such seemingly innocuous occurrences, They didn't have to wonder for long. | |
Tactical Moebian 21st Fatigues | Lower Body | The pale blue fatigues favoured by the Moebian 21st are the result of their extended campaigns on Incron, a planet covered in vast oceans, dotted by massive floating hive cities. |
Zealot[]
Name | Slot | Item | Description |
---|---|---|---|
Devoted Moebian 21st Rebreather | Head | Many members of the Moebian 21st that have a particularly religious bent, modify their rebreathers with laudhailer circuits, all the better to chastise the traitors they encounter and extol the virtues of the God Emperor to all with earshot. | |
Devoted Moebian 21st Flak Vest | Upper Body | After the report (or incoherent screaming over the vox) from the Recon team sent to investigate the 6th sub-level of the Hive, the stories grew stranger. At this time, those particularly faithful members of the regiment became a source of comfort and courage for their squad mates. Entreating the Emperor for His protection and encouraging their fellows to feats of bravery in His name. | |
Devoted Moebian 21st Fatigues | Lower Body | The 21st fought for many years on Incron. The vast tracts of open ocean that lay between the Hive cities meant that holding ground for any prolonged period became very difficult. Many a unit owes their continued existence to those faithful preachers among their ranks that ensured no one lost their faith in the dark times. |
Psyker[]
Name | Slot | Item | Description |
---|---|---|---|
Psykana Moebian 21st Rebreather | Head | Fitted with a Psykana Collar, this rebreather shows a common modification to the standard equipment, allowing the user a modicum of control over the terrifying powers they wield. | |
Moebian 21st Psykana Tunic | Upper Body | The psykers deployed with the 21st became increasingly erratic. The corruption in Tertium seemed to reach to the very heart of the hive. The barrier between the mortal world and the roiling seas of the Warp was growing thin here. Portents of flies, rot and decay were everywhere. This had to be more than a civilian uprising. | |
Padded Moebian 21st Fatigues | Lower Body | The 21st, like most Moebian regiments, make good use of Psykers within their ranks. They even developed tactics using their force shields to funnel enemies into deadly crossfires, ideal for the cramped conditions found in the depths of a rundown Hive city. |
Ogryn[]
Name | Slot | Item | Description |
---|---|---|---|
Moebian 21st Rebreather (XXXXL) | Head | While the preferred rebreather pattern used by the Moebian 21st doesn't come in Ogryn sizes, they still like to join in. A lick of paint and no one could tell the difference, right? | |
Moebian 21st Flak Vest (XXXXL) | Upper Body | While no one would credit an Ogryn with any real degree of intelligence, even they could pick up on the unnatural goings on surrounding the vanishing patrols and recon squads. What really scared them was the idea of some of their own being corrupted and twisted by the ruinous powers. Ogryns are loyal, they don't really know how to be anything else. | |
Moebian 21st Fatigues (Hive Streets Camo, XXXXL) | Lower Body | These fatigues are in the rarer Hive Streets camouflage pattern. They still echo the blue shades prevalent in the Moebian 21st uniform, but have an added pattern that marks this Ogryn out as having spent some time in the Hull Breachers. This unit specialised in extraction missions, deep within the dripping Hive depths. |
