Special Events

Special Events are time-limited events that sometimes offer unique rewards and crafting materials.

The most recent Special Events have featured new time-limited Special Conditions during the event. Special Events sometimes act as preludes and steps leading to narrative updates in the war for Tertium, i.e. new content being added.

During these events, an event progress tracker with an event briefing is added to the player's overlay, alongside their Contract and Penance trackers. players are rewarded in-game currencies (ordo dockets, plasteel and diamantine) for completing the event's objectives. Progress is typically shared across all members of the strike team and is account-wide.

Past Special Events[]

Hestia's Decollation Crusade - Occurring during SKULLS 2024, this was Darktide's first official Special Event and introduced the event-quest-tracking system (mostly rewarding crafting materials and XP).
Test Your Metal - Event added alongside the release of the Secrets of the Machine God update which added a new mission on a new map (Clandestium Gloriana) and multiple new weapons.
Herald of Admonition (Terror in the Dark)- Rolling blackouts are plaguing sectors of the hive. Worse, we’ve heard reports of someone, or something lurking in the darkness. We need devoted rejects to get down there and sort this mess out.
Unrelenting Hordes (Infected Moebian 21st) - A platoon of Moebian 21st soldiers has been infected by the Blight. Their armour will make them harder to deal with than the usual hordes you encounter. Rannick’s sure there is something afoot. Keep your eyes peeled for any clues as to what the Cult are doing.
The Grandfather's Gifts (Mutated Horrors) - The Lord of Decay has blessed his most beloved followers with hideous tentacles. So imbued are they with his foul pestilence that they explode when shot.

Awarded to those who played during Games Workshop's annual SKULLS event in 2023. The update that coincided with SKULLS 2023 was Rejects Unite + Patch #10. This update also added the missions Ascension Riser 31 and Archivum Sycorax, the Chaos Spawn enemy, and other Commodore's Vesture/Commissary changes to the game.
